We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial performance and cost control of large-scale CCGT construction projects based in Warsaw. The role focuses on project cost management, site-based financial monitoring, and providing actionable insights to support project delivery and profitability.
Your role will encompass:
• Cost Control and Analysis
o Monitor and analyze project costs (construction materials, subcontractors, labor, equipment, logistics, overhead).
o Support month-end closing with a focus on project cost allocation and accruals.
o Conduct variance analysis (budget vs actual vs forecast) and identify risks/opportunities.
o Implement cost control measures and support cost optimization initiatives across the project.
• Financial Planning and Budgeting
o Support the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
o Track project performance against budget and provide regular variance reporting.
o Work closely with Project Managers and Site Teams to align financial tracking with project progress and milestones.
• Project & Performance Analysis
o Monitor project KPIs (cost performance, productivity, progress vs spend).
o Analyze construction activities and resource utilization to identify efficiency improvements.
o Support claims, change orders, and forecasting of final project results (EAC – Estimate at Completion).
• Financial Reporting and Compliance
o Prepare timely and accurate project financial reports and management dashboards.
o Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and project reporting requirements.
o Support the preparation of statutory reports.
o Support audits and provide documentation related to project finances and contractual execution.
What you bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling within construction, EPC,or industrial projects (CCGT or energy projects experience is an advantage).
• Strong understanding of project cost control, budgeting, and forecasting in aconstruction environment.
• Familiarity with project-based ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost tracking tools.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work closely with project/site teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with both finance and engineering/construction stakeholders.
