We are currently looking for a Logistics Officer to join our team, based in Volos, Greece.
By joining this role, you’ll play a key role in supporting international and domestic logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation, customs compliance, and timely delivery of materials and equipment for defense-related projects, while contributing to cost-effective and uninterrupted business operations.
Your role will encompass:
• Coordinating international and domestic freight operations (road, sea, and air), including transport bookings and shipment execution.
• Tracking deliveries, managing freight forwarders, and resolving logistics-related issues.
• Ensuring compliance with international trade, transportation, customs, and defense-related regulations.
• Supporting export-controlled shipments, including export licenses, end-user documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Managing customs clearance activities, including invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and related documentation.
• Maintaining accurate logistics records and ensuring audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborating closely with Procurement, Project Management, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure efficient material flow.
• Monitoring logistics costs and supporting cost optimization initiatives through freight consolidation and process improvements.
• Providing regular reporting on shipment status, delivery performance, risks, and logistics costs.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of logistics processes, compliance standards, and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
• Coordinating logistics activities to ensure on-time and compliant delivery of materials and equipment.
• Managing relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
• Supporting export compliance and customs processes in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Monitoring logistics performance and proactively addressing delivery risks and operational challenges.
• Contributing to logistics cost control and optimization initiatives.
• Managing multiple shipments, stakeholders, and project requirements simultaneously.
• Ensuring accurate and timely logistics documentation and reporting.
• Supporting compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Meeting project timelines and delivery deadlines.
What you bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or a related field.
• Experience in international transportation, customs procedures, and export documentation.
• Previous experience in regulated industries such as defense, energy, or industrial manufacturing will be considered an asset.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
• Good understanding of international logistics, INCOTERMS, customs regulations, and export processes.
• Knowledge of defense export licensing procedures and regulations will be considered an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• High attention to detail, compliance mindset, and problem-solving approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
