We are currently looking for a Planning and Design Engineer to join our team, based in Volos, Greece.
By joining this role, you’ll play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities for large-scale defense programs, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Your role will encompass:
• Developing and monitoring detailed production plans and schedules for the execution of complex projects (e.g. PATRIOT, LEOPARD).
• Utilizing ERP/MRP systems and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) to manage workflows, resources, and priorities.
• Optimizing production processes to improve efficiency and minimize delays.
• Analyzing production capacity and proposing resource allocation improvements.
• Managing material procurement processes, including preparation of RFQs and technical specifications.
• Monitoring procurement schedules, quality control, and deliveries in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ensuring compliance with military and industrial standards (MIL-STD, ISO 9001).
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical, operational, and supply chain risks.
• Managing project changes and evaluating their impact on cost, timeline, and quality.
• Communicating effectively with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
• Participating in program reviews and presenting project progress and performance.
• Preparing technical and managerial reports, tracking KPIs, and maintaining project documentation.
• Coordinating cross-functional teams (production, procurement, warehouse, quality, engineering) to ensure smooth project execution.
• Providing technical support during critical project phases and ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
• Contributing to new project planning (bid phase), including cost, resource, and timeline estimation.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma) to enhance operational performance.
What you bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in production planning and project management (experience in defense projects is considered a strong asset).
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written), including technical terminology.
