We are currently seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to join the Grid & Digital Solutions Department of the Thermal Power & HVDC Division for the delivery of the EGL1 Project, based in Torness, Scotland
Your role will encompass:
- Supervising the execution of electrical works on site in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
- Monitoring the installation of electrical equipment, cable systems, earthing systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinating and supervising subcontractors to ensure the safe and efficient execution of works.
- Monitoring construction progress and maintaining accurate records of completed and ongoing activities.
- Reporting technical issues, construction challenges, and risks, while supporting their timely resolution.
- Ensuring the availability of materials, equipment, and resources required for site activities.
- Performing quality inspections and ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Supporting testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Monitoring schedule adherence and escalating potential delays to site management.
- Ensuring full compliance with HSE requirements throughout all electrical construction activities.
What you bring to the role:
- University Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical construction projects within the power generation, transmission, industrial, or energy sectors.
- Experience supervising electrical installation subcontractors on construction sites.
- Sound understanding of electrical drawings, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment and multidisciplinary project teams.
