We are currently looking for a Sr. Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team in the office in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Your role will encompass:
- Develop and implement cost control procedures and systems to monitor and manage expenses across the organization
- Analyze cost variances, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions to ensure cost targets are met
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate with department heads and project managers to develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and timely reporting
- Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and expense claims, verifying accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines
- Conduct regular cost reviews and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making
- Track and analyze inventory costs
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements to minimize costs
- Provide financial support and guidance to cross-functional teams, assisting in the development of business cases and investment proposals
- Stay update to changes in cost accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and best practices
What you bring to the role:
- Degree in Finance, or other related fields
- 7+ years’ experience in finance, cost accounting with a focus on cost control and analysis
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial analysis techniques and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting and cost-benefits analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations
- Ability to work effectively cross functionally and with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project)
