METKA ΑΤΕ, as a subsidiary of METLEN, has long-term experience in the infrastructure sector, holding a seventh-class contractor’s certificate and now specializes in construction activities, undertaking infrastructure projects such as road construction, certified buildings, railway, marine projects, etc., as well as solid and liquid waste management projects.
We are currently looking for a Site (Civil) Engineer to join the site team for the expansion of the existing private port in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia, Greece. The project includes marine works, earthworks and civil works.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Site Engineer will supervise assigned construction activities, provide technical support and help ensure that works meet project safety, quality and programme requirements.
Your role will encompass:
- Supervise assigned site activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Coordinate with foremen, subcontractors and suppliers on daily work requirements.
- Review construction drawings, identify discrepancies and raise technical queries for resolution.
- Support short-term planning and monitor progress against the construction schedule.
- Prepare daily site reports, progress records and quantity measurements.
- Assist in preparing method statements and material requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors and assist in reviewing technical submissions and quotations.
- Coordinate with the quality team on inspections, testing and construction records.
- Monitor compliance with site health, safety and environmental procedures and report any issues.
- Support the preparation of as-built records and handover documentation.
What you bring to the role:
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 2+ years of site experience in civil works, earthworks and/or marine construction.
- Marine construction experience would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera or similar planning software would be considered an asset.
- Understanding of construction quantities, costs and resource requirements.
- Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Valid driving license.
- Availability to work on-site in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia.
