Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Development Manager to join our growing renewable energy business in South Korea.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout the project lifecycle, from opportunity identification and early-stage development through permitting, stakeholder management, and project maturation.

You will play a key role in supporting the expansion of our renewable energy portfolio in South Korea, working closely with internal teams, government authorities, utilities, landowners, investors, and industry partners to ensure successful project development and execution.

 

Your role will encompass:

  • Leading the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Wind, and emerging energy technologies.
  • Managing projects through all development phases, including site identification, feasibility assessments, permitting, grid connection, and readiness for construction.
  • Supporting the development and execution of market and project development strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identifying and assessing new development opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives within the South Korean market.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with government authorities, utilities, regulatory bodies, landowners, investors, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external advisors to ensure progress against development milestones and project timelines.
  • Managing project development risks and supporting the resolution of permitting, regulatory, and stakeholder-related challenges.
  • Providing commercial and strategic input into project evaluations, investment decisions, and portfolio growth initiatives.
  • Supporting negotiations, due diligence activities, partnership agreements, and commercial discussions as required.
  • Tracking project performance, development budgets, risks, and key milestones to ensure successful project delivery.

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a track record of delivering utility-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the South Korean renewable energy market, including permitting requirements, grid connection processes, land development and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple development projects simultaneously within a dynamic environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project economics, development risk, and investment considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex development challenges.
  • Effective leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding junior team members and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in Korean and English.

 

Nice to have:

  • Master's degree in Energy, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with Solar PV, Wind, BESS, or other emerging energy technologies.
  • Exposure to project financing, investment evaluations, or M&A activities.
  • Experience working within international or matrix organizations.
  • Established network within the South Korean renewable energy industry.
