We are currently looking for an Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design team in our offices in Athens.
You role you will encopass:
- Reviewing Customer requirements for Conceptual/Basic Design and Detail Design of Power Plants and Industrial Facilities
- Being familiar with the Water Steam Cycle systems and global operating concept processes of the Plants
- On the above basis, reviewing Heat & Mass Balances, Water Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, General Arrangement drawings, System Descriptions, System Calculations
- Preparing technical specifications and associated datasheets for mechanical equipment such as gas turbines and reciprocating engines, steam turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, air cooled and/water cooled condensers, cooling towers, main pumps, fuel gas systems, fuel oil systems, etc. and following up/reviewing mechanical equipment Vendor’s offers and documentation
- Participating and supporting Hazard & Risk analysis studies, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL
- Providing technical assistance, support and troubleshooting to the site construction and commissioning team
- Taking part in alignment meetings with the Architect Engineer, equipment Vendors and the other engineering companies that may be involved in the projects
- Undertaking all issues related to the noise/acoustic studies of the Plants/Facilities
- Undertaking all issues relevant to the performance tests and the verification of the guaranteed figures of a Plant, including preparation of the performance test procedure, supporting the execution of the tests and participation in clarification meetings with the Customer
What you bring to the role:
- Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant position (power, oil & gas sector)
- Excellent knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of other languages shall be considered an additional asset
- Good Knowledge and familiarization with European Directives and Industrial Standards such as EN, ASME, API, HEI, ISO, BS
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks. Experience and knowledge of software such as AFT, Pipe Flow shall be considered an additional asset
- Critical thinking & troubleshooting capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
