The Contract Engineer will play a key role in supporting the management, administration, and execution of contracts within the PV sector. The role focuses on ensuring that contracts are adhered to, potential risks are mitigated, and all parties fulfill their contractual obligations in compliance with legal, operational, and company standards. This role requires the ability to coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth contract management throughout the lifecycle of PV projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Administration
- Assist in the preparation, review, and execution of contracts related to PV projects, including supply agreements, installation contracts, and maintenance agreements.
- Ensure contracts are properly archived and accessible for all stakeholders.
- Track and monitor contract milestones, deliverables, and key dates.
- Supporting Negotiations
- Support senior contract managers and legal teams in contract negotiations, ensuring that key contractual terms and conditions are aligned with company goals.
- Prepare documents and amendments related to ongoing contract negotiations.
- Compliance Monitoring
- Ensure that all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and industry-specific standards, especially related to renewable energy and environmental regulations.
- Monitor compliance with safety, performance, and quality standards as set out in the contract documentation.
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of potential risks related to contract execution.
- Contract Execution and Monitoring
- Oversee day-to-day contract execution, ensuring that obligations are met by both parties (internal and external stakeholders).
- Ensure timely processing of contract payments, performance milestones, and any variations.
- Assist in resolving minor disputes and issues that arise during contract execution.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, procurement, legal teams, and other departments to ensure contracts align with project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and clients to resolve any issues related to contract performance.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Assist in the preparation of regular reports on the status of contracts, including performance, risks, and compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, including amendments, addendums, and performance records.
- Support in the preparation for internal audits, reviews, and compliance assessments.
- General Contract Support
- Assist in training and educating team members on contract terms, conditions, and compliance requirements.
- Provide administrative support in the management of contracts and related documentation.
- Maintain a solid understanding of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in contract management within the renewable energy sector.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. (Certification in contract management or related qualifications is a plus.)
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management or administration, preferably in the renewable energy, construction, or photovoltaic sectors.
- Experience with contract drafting, review, and administration in a project-based environment is highly desirable.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good understanding of contract law, renewable energy regulations, and the PV sector.
