Job Description: 

We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Grudziądz, Poland, supporting the commissioning phase of a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant. This role offers a strong opportunity to play a key part in the execution and delivery of mechanical commissioning activities through to plant handover, ensuring compliance with project, quality, safety, and performance requirements.

Your role will encompass:

Lead and execute mechanical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to final handover, in line with approved procedures, project objectives, and contractual requirements.

Provide hands-on commissioning expertise for mechanical Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, including turbines, HRSG, water/steam cycle, condensers, cooling water, fuel systems, auxiliary systems, and water & wastewater treatment facilities.

Execute and supervise testing, system optimisation, troubleshooting, and completion of commissioning documentation and protocols.

Coordinate and lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient execution, proper sequencing, and adherence to commissioning schedules.

Lead mechanical equipment and system functional tests in close cooperation with Electrical and I&C teams, including plant performance testing.

Supervise equipment suppliers’ and vendors’ commissioning specialists and coordinate interfaces with construction, erection, and commissioning teams.

Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, including LOTO, work permits, and safe systems of work.

Participate in system walk-downs, identify open items impacting start-up, and support resolution through close coordination with all stakeholders.

Prepare and update commissioning procedures, red-marked drawings, and documentation, supporting the preparation of final as-built drawings.

Report on mechanical commissioning progress, technical challenges, and risks to the Commissioning Manager or Head of Commissioning.

What You Bring to the Role:

5–7 years of experience in mechanical commissioning on power generation projects, preferably Combined Cycle Power Plants.

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).

Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical commissioning methodologies and BOP systems.

Experience coordinating commissioning teams, contractors, and vendors in complex, multi-disciplinary site environments.

Solid understanding of commissioning planning, testing, documentation, and interface management.

Proven experience working under strict HSE frameworks.

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Fluent written and spoken English.
