We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our UK team, within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of METLEN Energy & Metals. This is a UK‑wide search, and we welcome applications from suitable candidates based across the country.
This role plays a critical part in the successful delivery of complex, large‑scale energy infrastructure projects, managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring excellence across the full project lifecycle.
Your role will encompass:
- Participating in meetings with clients and subcontractors to align project objectives, scope, and expectations.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Coordinating and collaborating with cross‑functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Managing project budgets and ensuring adherence to financial constraints and internal governance requirements.
- Regularly reporting project status, milestones, risks, and performance to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and vendors, establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather project requirements, resolve conflicts, and ensure project objectives are met in line with METLEN standards.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably within the energy sector.
- Proven experience managing multiple energy‑related projects in parallel.
- Previous experience in project management on Power Plant projects (Thermal and/or HVDC preferred).
- Strong capability to work independently while effectively managing teams, interfaces, and budgets.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Fluency in English; an additional European language is considered an advantage.
- International work experience.
- MSc and/or MBA will be considered an asset.
