About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a SCADA Engineer to join our team in our team. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the commissioning activities for the Electrical and control systems to ensure operation safely, reliably, and in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.

As a SCADA Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Support Project Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinating with project teams, contractors, vendors, clients, utilities and regulatory authorities to ensure project activities are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.
Provide Electrical, SCADA & Control Systems Leadership
- Leading the technical integration, configuration and optimisation of inverter stations, substations, SCADA, protection, metering, communications and control systems.
Manage Design Reviews & Technical Assurance
- Reviewing engineering designs, drawings and system interfaces to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, industry standards and operational best practice.
Lead Testing, Commissioning & Grid Compliance
- Coordinating FAT, SAT, site integration testing, commissioning and grid compliance activities, including performance testing, issue resolution and compliance reporting.
Drive System Performance, Troubleshooting & Cybersecurity
- Analysing operational and SCADA data to identify and resolve technical issues, improve plant performance, and maintain OT cybersecurity, network integrity and system reliability.
Maintain Project Governance, Safety & Documentation
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements while maintaining project documentation, technical records, progress reporting and RFI management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Electrical Systems, Protection & Grid Connection
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, substations, protection schemes, inverter stations, balance-of-plant equipment, grid connection processes and GPS compliance requirements.
SCADA, Control Systems & Communications
- Expertise in SCADA architecture, PLCs, RTUs, IEDs, communications networks, PPC/PPM systems, system integration and control philosophies.
Commissioning, Testing & Technical Troubleshooting
- Sound understanding of FAT, SAT, commissioning methodologies, electrical testing procedures, technical diagnostics and performance optimisation of renewable energy assets.
Industry Standards, Safety & Compliance
- Knowledge of Australian renewable energy regulations, HV electrical safety requirements, risk management practices, IEC standards (including IEC 61850) and utility compliance obligations.
Industrial Networks & OT Cybersecurity
- Understanding of industrial communications networks, remote communications, network architecture, cybersecurity principles, access controls, firewalls, backup and recovery processes.
Technical Design, Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation, utilise design and project management software, and effectively coordinate with internal teams, contractors, clients and regulatory stakeholders.
