Job Description: 

 

As part of METLEN's continued expansion in the German renewable energy market, we are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to support the successful delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

This is a key leadership role responsible for establishing and managing project controls frameworks across schedule, cost, risk, progress, and performance reporting. Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, and Finance teams, you will provide the insights and governance needed to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain integrated project controls systems covering planning, cost control, risk management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Develop and manage project baseline schedules and cost baselines.
  • Monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) and other recognised methodologies.
  • Produce high-quality project controls reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior stakeholders.
  • Identify schedule and cost variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead project risk and opportunity management processes.
  • Support change control activities, including assessment of schedule and cost impacts.
  • Drive alignment with METLEN governance standards and project controls best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project execution.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project controls systems, tools, and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Proven project controls experience within EPC, EPCM, energy, infrastructure, or industrial project environments.
  • Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Advanced Primavera P6, Excel, and reporting skills.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent English required; German language skills are highly desirable.
