METKA ΑΤΕ, as a subsidiary of METLEN, has long-term experience in the infrastructure sector, holding a seventh class contractor’s certificate and now specializes in construction activities, undertaking infrastructure projects such as road construction, certified buildings, railway, marine projects, etc., as well as solid and liquid waste management projects.
We are currently looking for an experienced Foreman for the expansion of the existing private port in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia, Greece. The project includes marine works, earthworks and civil works.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Senior Foreman will organize and supervise daily site operations, ensuring that crews and equipment work safely, efficiently and in accordance with construction drawings and instructions.
Your role will encompass:
- Organize and supervise daily construction activities across the assigned work fronts.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors and equipment in line with the site work programme.
- Plan daily and weekly resource requirements with the Site Manager and site engineers.
- Ensure that works follow approved drawings, method statements and quality requirements.
- Enforce site safety rules and environmental procedures, addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity and progress, and report delays or resource shortages.
- Coordinate material deliveries, handling and storage to support uninterrupted site operations.
- Maintain daily records of completed works, labour, equipment and site issues.
- Identify practical construction problems and coordinate their resolution with the site engineering team.
What you bring to the role:
- At least 10 years of relevant construction experience, including substantial experience as a Foreman or Senior Foreman.
- Proven experience supervising marine works, earthworks and/or civil works.
- Marine construction experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Experience in caisson construction would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and method statements.
- Proven ability to organize crews, subcontractors and construction equipment.
- Strong practical knowledge of site safety and construction quality requirements.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of English.
- Strong communication, coordination and practical problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work on-site in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia.
