Job Description: 

 

Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a Site Engineer to support our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to work on large-scale Solar and BESS projects and help deliver the UK’s clean energy future.

You will be required to support the Project and Construction Teams in the planning, coordination and execution of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects; ensuring safe delivery, quality assurance, and compliance with engineering standards, programme milestones, and contractual requirements.

 

Your Role will Encompass:

• Support the on-site delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects from construction through commissioning.

• Coordinate daily site engineering activities across civil, electrical, and mechanical workstreams.

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Monitor site progress against programme milestones and support schedule reporting.

• Ensure works are executed in accordance with design, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical and construction issues.

• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.

• Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, RFIs, and as-built documentation.

• Support risk assessments, method statements, and permit processes.

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and UK regulations.

 

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).

• 2+ years of experience in site engineering within construction, infrastructure, or energy projects.

• Experience working on renewable energy, Solar PV, or BESS projects is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of construction practices, drawings, and project delivery methods.

• Knowledge of HSE standards and quality assurance processes.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Ability to work across multiple sites and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
