We are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team based in London, United Kingdom.
By joining this role, you will support Metlen's energy projects globally, and you'll play a vital role in supporting the business across the UK and Ireland by providing commercially focused legal advice, managing contractual risk, and ensuring the successful delivery of energy projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Your role will encompass:

Providing high-quality, responsive legal advice to support the business's strategic and operational objectives.

Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and completing EPC, O&M, supply, procurement, and subcontracting agreements across the contract chain.

Supporting project teams in the management and administration of EPC and O&M contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk mitigation strategies.

Advising on tender documentation and contractual matters throughout the development and execution phases of energy projects.

Liaising with external legal advisors to obtain fee quotations and manage legal expenditure in accordance with Legal Team procedures.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of Legal Team processes, procedures, precedents, know-how materials, and training initiatives.
What you bring to the role:

Qualified Lawyer in England & Wales; Dual legal qualification in another European jurisdiction will be considered an advantage.

5+ post-qualification experience (PQE) in the EPC energy sector within the UK.

Experience gained in both private practice and in-house legal environments will be considered advantageous.

Demonstrated experience advising on energy and infrastructure projects.

Detailed knowledge of EPC contracting, including tenders, procurement, EPC, O&M, supply, and subcontract agreements.

Strong working knowledge and experience of FIDIC and NEC4 contractual frameworks.

Strong negotiation, drafting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently while effectively supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
