Metlen Renewables Division in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career quality professional to develop their expertise within the renewable energy sector while contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale EPC solar and energy projects.
Working closely with the QA/QC Manager, Site Management Team, Project Engineers, and subcontractors, the QA/QC Officer will support the implementation and maintenance of project quality requirements throughout the construction phase. The role is responsible for assisting with inspections, quality documentation, compliance monitoring, and ensuring that works are executed in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
Your role will encompass:
- Support the implementation of the Project Quality Management Plan and associated QA/QC procedures.
- Assist in monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, approved procedures, and quality requirements.
- Participate in inspections and verification activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Support the coordination of quality inspections with subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Monitor and maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in tracking non-conformances, observations, and corrective actions to ensure timely close-out.
- Support quality audits and site inspections, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Verify that materials delivered to site meet approved specifications and project requirements.
- Assist with the review and compilation of handover documentation, quality dossiers, and as-built records.
- Maintain accurate records within project quality management systems and document control platforms.
- Support the preparation of quality reports and project quality KPIs.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the project team.
- Liaise with engineering, construction, commissioning, and document control teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
What you bring to the role:
- Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a QA/QC, engineering, construction, or technical support role is desirable.
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects would be advantageous.
- Understanding of quality management principles and inspection processes.
- Familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and construction quality procedures.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 9001 standards is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence would be advantageous.
