Job Description: 

 

We are currently looking for an HSE Competence Specialist to join our HSE team in Paiania, Greece.

 

As an HSE Competence Specialist, you will support the MRES HSE Manager in enhancing HSE performance across construction projects by establishing and standardizing the HSE competence and training framework. You will lead the development and governance of HSE training programs to ensure that employees and contractors are competent to work safely and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements, while acting as the focal point for HSE training standardization and competence development across all projects.

 

Your role will encompass:

  • Develop and standardize HSE training materials, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to support a consistent approach across projects
  • Define and govern HSE induction and onboarding processes for employees and contractors, ensuring alignment with company standards and project requirements
  • Coordinate and monitor HSE training delivery , ensuring full coverage, consistency, and timely execution across all projects
  • Track competence requirements, training completion rates, and identified gaps, through relevant systems and platforms (e.g. SharePoint, HammerTech), providing insights to support compliance and continuous improvement
  • Support HSE Area Managers and site teams in strengthening safety culture through targeted training, learning initiatives, and competence development activities delivered both on site and through digital learning and HSE management platforms

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Degree in Engineering, Health & Safety or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant HSE experience
  • Proven experience in developing HSE training materials, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and learning programs
  • Experience in training needs analysis, competency management, and compliance tracking
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001/14001; Train-the-Trainer, NEBOSH, or equivalent certifications will be considered an advantage
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in Greek and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with HSE management platforms and databases (e.g. HammerTech or equivalent) will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in renewable energy projects and/or EPC projects will be considered an advantage
