We are currently looking for an Energy Market Analyst to join our Long Term Optimization & Aggregation team within the Integrated Utility Division, based in Paiania, Greece.
In this highly analytical role, you will play a key role in analyzing the Greek electricity market and other regional energy markets, developing long-term market outlooks, and assessing the performance and value of the Group’s energy portfolio. You will translate market, regulatory, and economic developments into actionable scenarios and insights that support strategic decision-making, asset valuation, and portfolio optimization.
Your role will encompass:
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis of the Greek electricity market and other regional markets to identify and quantify trends, opportunities, and risks, supporting evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance market models to produce long-term market scenarios aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives, validating assumptions and translating market developments into updated forecasts.
- Assess and forecast the performance and value of the Group’s generation assets, renewable projects, storage assets, and PPAs under different market scenarios, providing financial and strategic recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement of analytical methodologies, datasets, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and decision-making capabilities.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on market developments and scenarios outcomes for senior management.
What you bring to the role:
- 3+ years of proven experience in a relevant role within the energy sector, including market analysis, modelling, energy economics, forecasting, portfolio analysis, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in energy markets and regulation will be considered a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the Greek electricity market operations and regulatory framework. Additional familiarity in market operations and regulations across the wider Balkan region will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage large datasets efficiently, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in at least one analytical or modelling tool (Python, GAMS, VBA, SQL) and experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
