We are currently looking for a Data Management Senior Manager to join our team in Paiania, Athens and play a key role in shaping and executing the Group’s data strategy.
In this strategic and hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for building and scaling robust data management and data engineering capabilities across the organization, leveraging the Microsoft technology stack. You will drive the design of modern data platforms, ensure data quality and governance, and enable advanced analytics and business intelligence across the Group.
Your role will encompass:

Data Strategy & Architecture:
Define and implement the Group’s data management and data engineering strategy, aligned with business priorities and digital transformation initiatives. Design and evolve scalable data architectures (data lake, data warehouse, lakehouse) leveraging Microsoft technologies (Azure Data Platform).

Data Engineering & Platform Development:
Lead the development and optimization of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and related services. Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of data solutions while promoting best practices in data engineering and DevOps.

Microsoft Data Stack Enablement:
Drive the adoption and effective use of Microsoft data technologies, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and SQL Server. Ensure seamless integration across systems and enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users.

Data Governance & Quality:
Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data ownership, data quality standards, metadata management, and data security. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.

Analytics & Business Enablement:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights. Enable advanced analytics, reporting, and dashboarding capabilities, supporting decision-making across functions such as Energy Trading, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.

Team Leadership & Capability Building:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data team, including data engineers and data specialists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while ensuring effective workload management and delivery.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Digital, Business Units) to align data initiatives with business needs. Manage external partners and vendors, ensuring quality delivery and alignment with the Group’s data architecture and standards.

Projects & Transformation Initiatives:
Lead and contribute to large-scale data and digital transformation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and at high quality. Drive continuous improvement of data platforms and processes.

Governance & Reporting:
Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor data platform performance, data quality, and project delivery. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.
What you bring to the role:

Professional Experience:
8+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, or related roles, including experience in leading teams and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.

Technical Expertise (Microsoft Stack):
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL), Power BI, and SQL Server. Experience with modern data architectures (data lakehouse, cloud-native platforms) is essential.

Data Engineering & Architecture Skills:
Proven ability to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and scalable data platforms. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and performance optimization.

Data Governance & Quality:
Experience in implementing data governance frameworks, data quality controls, and data security practices.

Leadership & Delivery:
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution in a dynamic environment. Proven track record in leading teams and delivering complex projects.

Business & Stakeholder Orientation:
Ability to translate business needs into data solutions and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in energy, utilities, or industrial environments is considered a strong advantage.
