As a Contracts Manager at Metlen you will be a fundamental part of the project management team for the construction of a CCGT Thermal Power Plant. This position will be based in Paiania, Athens.
Your role will encompass:
- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and optimize commercial outcomes across the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the preparation and management of contracts related to CCGT projects, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts, PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements), O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements, and supplier/vendor contracts.
- Ensure all contracts are aligned with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in close coordination with the legal team.
- Manage contract execution, amendments, and close-out processes, providing direction and guidance to Project Management teams.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage contractual risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests.
- Drive contract performance management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and deliverables across all stakeholders.
- Lead the management of claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes, coordinating with Project Management and relevant stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, providing guidance and strategic input to internal teams.
- Lead negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and clients to secure commercially favourable terms and manage contractual exposure.
- Support and guide commercial and procurement teams in supplier evaluation, tendering, and contract award processes.
- Oversee contract-related financial aspects in collaboration with project managers and finance teams, including budgets, payments, and cost control.
What you bring to the role:
- MSc in Engineering , or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of professional experience in the construction and/or energy sector, with strong exposure to EPC or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing complex contractual frameworks, including FIDIC.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and influence key stakeholders.
- Proven track record in managing contractual risk, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent command of English.
- Ability to travel.
