Job Description: 

 

 

We are currently looking for a Contracts Engineer to join our MRES-ET team based in Athens. 

 

As a Contracts Engineer, you will support the Senior Contract Manager in the administration and management of contracts during project execution, including the monitoring of contractual obligations, preparation and substantiation of claims and variations, management of contractual records, and support in contractual disputes with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and consortium partners.

 

Your role will encompass:

  • Support the preparation, review and substantiation of claims, variations, notices and contractual correspondence, in order to support the safeguarding of the Company’s rights and entitlements
  • Monitor contractual obligations, key milestones, notice requirements and deliverables under contracts with clients, main suppliers, subcontractors and consortium partners
  • Identify and escalate contract-related risks, disputes, potential claims and compliance issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in the review and analysis of contractual correspondence, instructions, change events, delay events, payment issues, defects, completion and taking-over matters
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including project, site, engineering, planning, procurement, cost control and document control teams, to collect information and supporting records
  • Follow up proactively with internal teams to obtain the information, evidence and clarifications required for contractual matters
  • Assist in the coordination with external stakeholders, including legal advisors, delay experts and claims consultants, as required
  • Maintain and update contractual records, trackers, registers, chronologies and evidence files to ensure accurate reference and audit trail
  • Support the preparation of internal briefings, factual summaries, claim chronologies and document bundles

 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Engineering background or other relevant 
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, such as a Contracts Engineer, Claims Engineer, Project Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or contract administration role in construction, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects
  • Experience in claims, variations, contract administration or dispute resolution would be considered an advantage
  • Good understanding of project execution, construction documentation and contractual processes
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling principles would be considered an advantage
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of assigned matters
  • Sound judgement and ability to identify when issues require escalation
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
