We are currently looking for an HSE Supervisor to join our EPC team in Croatia.
Your role will encompass:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation including (but not limited to) Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Workplace, Health, Safety (WHS),Environment Protection and Quality Management
- Provide effective QHSE support to the Board, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and work groups
- Provide QHSE reports to the Board, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and work groups
- Ensure and effectively manage compliance of QHSE systems and processes through the coordination of internal audits, inspections and training
- Ensure compliance of QHSE training within Corporate Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with clients and other stakeholders
- Ensure all work carried out complies with Metlen Quality, Health, Safety and Environment requirements at all times and in accordance with Metlen policies objectives and targets
- Foster a positive working relationship with contractors and escalate/report issues as per agreed framework
- Review Safety Reporting actively identifying areas of increased incident / risk, provide solutions / recommendations to Project Manager to address
- Represent QHSE of Metlen during internal and external construction audits, as well as ensure its positive outcome
- Contribute to lessons learned and further development and improvement of construction and operational methods on future projects
- Manage delivery of National QHSE Framework whilst supporting improvements and initiatives for the organisation
- Ensure Metlen group level QHSE improvements and initiatives are delivered
- Maintain a ‘Safe Working Culture’ on site through ongoing active engagement and education of leaders and the workforce
- Manage performance of QHSE Department
- Manage Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of QHSE Department
- Ensure group level and local QHSE targets and objectives are met
- Disseminate QHSE related information within the organisation
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is considered an advantage
- 8+ years of experience in QHSE roles, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial position
- Extensive experience within civil, mechanical, electrical, infrastructure, or renewable energy construction environments
- Strong knowledge of Croatian health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining management systems aligned with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, employees, contractors, and external partners
- Proficiency with QHSE and business software platforms, including HammerTech, SharePoint, Procore, Microsoft Office, and Xero
- Experience in the renewable energy sector (Solar, BESS) is considered a strong advantage
