About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Lead to join our team in Edgecumbe New Zealand.
Location: Site based role – Edgecumbe
Contract Type: Full time, maximum term
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be a valuable member of the team responsible for the planning, implementation and administration Metlen’s Quality Management System on the Tihori Solar Farm construction site.
As a Quality Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation of the project Quality Management System on the project site
- Supervise and manage all construction subcontractors on site to ensure quality compliance
- Manage and ensure process conformity with specifications, plans, laws and regulations
- Ensure engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are observed
- Provide support, advice and training to Site personnel in quality related matters
- Manage the execution of onsite ITPs/ITCs
- Lead the receipt inspections/reporting for all equipment and materials arriving to site
- Assist the Quality Manager with the management of the QMS
- Coach and mentor subcontractor Quality personnel to assist their understanding and implementation of Quality requirements on a site level
- Support the Site Manager to ensure the compliance and availability of the Final Documentation (as built drawings, quality records, etc) for O&M
- Represent the Quality function of MYT during internal and external construction audits
- Manage the Quality Officer
- Assess subcontractor/supplier facilities as necessary to review their quality management systems
- Contribute to the identification of lessons learned and further development and improvement of future project processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade School or Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to construction, renewable energy or engineering is preferred
- Experience in Quality Management Systems within the renewable energy industry
- Strong team building skills
- Experience with contractual documentation and technical specifications
- Knowledgeable of Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering and constructability within renewable energy plants
- Sound knowledge of regulatory, environmental and safety requirements
- Ability to work effectively cross functionally and with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project)
- Advanced proficiency in Construction Management Software (ideally Procore)
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) certification (preferred)
- Driver’s license
- White card (AUS) or Site Safety card (NZ)
