We are currently looking for a Site Civil Engineer to join our UK team within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals, supporting the construction of the Progress Power Plant OCGT Project based at Eye Airfield, Suffolk.
Your role will encompass:
- Supervise and coordinate daily civil works activities on site, including subcontractor management
- Ensure works are delivered in line with project schedule, budget, and quality requirements
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Monitor and enforce site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
- Carry out site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design and standards
- Track progress and report on delays, risks, and issues to the Senior Site Engineer / Project Management team
- Support setting-out activities and verification of works where required
- Assist in resolving technical issues arising during construction
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 2–4 years’ experience in construction projects, preferably within energy, infrastructure, or industrial environments
- Experience working on-site and coordinating subcontractors
- Good understanding of civil construction processes and site execution
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to be site-based in Eye Airfield, Suffolk
