Job Description: 

We are looking for a Cost Controller to join our M Renewables team in Italy, part of our subsidiary METKA EGN.

The PMO Cost Controller is responsible for ensuring effective financial governance and cost control across the project portfolio. The role supports the Project Management Office in monitoring budget performance, analyzing cost deviations, identifying root causes of variances, and consolidating financial reporting at portfolio level. The position acts as an interface between Project Management, Procurement, and Finance to ensure financial transparency, reporting standardization, and alignment with corporate financial requirements.

 

 

Your role will encompass:

 

Budget Monitoring & Cost Control

  • Monitor and control project budget performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track actual costs versus approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure cost data accuracy and consistency across systems and reporting tools.
  • Identify potential cost overruns and financial risks.
  • Support reforecasting activities and Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes.

 

Budget Deviation Analysis

  • Analyze and report cost deviations by:
    • WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)
    • Cost Class
    • Vendor / Contract
  • Identify and document root causes of variances, including schedule delays, scope changes, operational inefficiencies, claims, extra costs, and procurement-related issues.
  • Provide structured analysis and recommendations to Project Managers and PMO.
  • Support corrective action plans and mitigation measures.

 

Aggregated Reporting & Portfolio View

  • Design, implement, and maintain aggregated cost reporting at portfolio level.
  • Consolidate detailed project cost analyses into standardized dashboards and reports.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting for senior management.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for portfolio financial performance.
  • Ensure consistency and comparability of reporting across projects.

 

Collaboration with Finance

  • Collaborate with the Finance department to align project reporting with corporate financial standards.
  • Support integrated corporate reporting processes.
  • Reconcile project cost control data with accounting figures.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles

 

 

What you bring to the role:

Education

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cost Control, Project Control, or PMO environments.
  • Experience in structured project environments (e.g., industrial, infrastructure, IT, engineering projects).
  • Familiarity with WBS structures, cost breakdown structures, and contract management.

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of financial reporting principles.
  • Ability to structure, analyze, and consolidate complex datasets.
