Job Description: 

Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical aspects of the park construction. This role ensures that the electrical systems and components are designed, installed, tested, and maintained according to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

The Site Electrical Engineer works closely with other engineering disciplines, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure the successful and timely completion of the project.

Knowledge Requirements (Technical Competencies):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the renewable energy sector or large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous Electrical experience on a wind/solar farm project is not essential but will be highly regarded. 
  • Deep understanding of Electrical Romanian Standards and Regulations
  • Leadership of site-based subcontractors and employees that has resulted in a highly aligned, motivated, and engaged team. 
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Previous accountability for budgeting and cost management. 
  • Successful track record in project supervision / management
  • Strong team skills.
  • Experience in contractual documentation and technical specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of Electrical engineering and constructability within renewable energy plants.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally and with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project).
  • Proficiency in Construction Management Software (ideally Procore)
  • Experience working in an international company.

Positions Specifications:

  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures for electrical installations.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on electrical components and systems to verify compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or non-conformances in electrical work.
  • Work closely with mechanical and civil engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project components.
  • Coordinate with construction managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of electrical work.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of tools, equipment, and resources needed for electrical installations.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations for all electrical work on site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of electrical work, including installation logs, inspection reports, and test results.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports on electrical work to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team on electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical problems that arise during construction.
  • Support the commissioning and testing of electrical systems to ensure they function as intended.
  • Reports to commissioning team any issues identified during commissioning and testing.
