METKA ΑΤΕ, as a subsidiary of METLEN, has long-term experience in the infrastructure sector, holding a seventh class contractor’s certificate and now specializes in construction activities, undertaking infrastructure projects such as road construction, certified buildings, railway, marine projects, etc., as well as solid and liquid waste management projects.
We are currently looking for a Site Engineer – Marine Projects to join our team.
Your role will encompass:
As a member of the construction team, the Site Engineer will be responsible for supporting and supervising the execution of marine construction works on site. Main responsibilities include:
- Overseeing on-site construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, method statements, quality requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Supporting the execution and coordination of marine works, such as quay walls, caissons, dredging, reclamation, rock works, revetments, concrete works, piling or other related port infrastructure activities.
- Coordinating with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Technical Office, subcontractors, suppliers, survey teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth site operations.
- Monitoring daily progress, productivity, resources, and site constraints, and reporting any issues that may affect time, cost, quality, or safety.
- Preparing and maintaining site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, quantity measurements, comparison tables, cost-related inputs, and short-term schedules.
- Assisting in the planning and sequencing of works to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Ensuring that works are carried out safely and in accordance with approved HSE procedures.
- Supporting inspections, quality checks, material control, and coordination with supervision teams where required.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Surveying Engineering, or another relevant technical field.
- At least 5 years of previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction site role.
- Experience in marine, port, coastal, dredging, or heavy civil infrastructure projects will be appreciated.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and site execution requirements.
- Good knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software will be considered an asset.
- Excellent command of Greek and good working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a highly motivated project team.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver reliable results within deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to work on site in Greece, including marine project environments.
